Jay’s Catering is seeking a motivated and experienced Bar Manager to plan, direct and oversee all bar operations including ordering, product development, inventory, and implementing and maintaining procedures for maximum efficiency and service. Jay’s Catering has served the Orange County and Los Angeles areas for 50 years, and are looking for a passionate and creative individual to join their family.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Create and implement quality and service standards for bartending staff, including training.
- Direct and manage bartending staff to meet standards and objectives
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages while working on-site
- Resolve customer complaints promptly while working on-site
- Promote and practice compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards and regulations
- Monitor inventory and order bar items accordingly based on event forecast
- Maintain an active relationship with suppliers and sales representatives
- Make certain all deliveries are checked in and correct
- Manage inventory to reduce waste (product rotation, storage, etc.)
- Oversee the bar display to maximize functionality, uniformity, and attractiveness
- Work directly with Jay’s sales staff to provide custom pricing and bar knowledge
- Create new recipes that follow current alcohol trends
- Stay current with relevant legislation regarding service of alcohol
- Evaluate profit margin on a consistent basis, and make suggestions to increase profit
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience
- ServSafe Certification
- TIP or LEAD Bartender Certification
