End of Summer Serra Plaza Wedding

After saying, “I do” nearby, Katherine and Nam headed into the heart of San Juan Capistrano for newlywed photos, and their wedding party entered the Serra Plaza gates for cocktail hour. Cocktail tables draped in ivory linen and topped with white and light pink flowers offered a place for guests to put down their drinks and snack on hors d’oeuvres. Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellingtons and Braised Pork Belly Steamed Buns were tray passed and the bar was shaking and stirring up drinks. Everyone mixed and mingled in the lounge while Katherine and Nam made their way back to the venue and took a few photos in the courtyard reception space before hiding away for their grand entrance.

Guests checked the seating chart, then took a seat at their assigned tables. Mimicking the cocktail hour decor, each table was topped with large white and pink floral arrangements and candles. String lights hung from tree to tree creating a sparkling canopy and the Spanish fountain and sweetheart table was decorated in greenery and fresh flowers. Once everyone had taken a seat, the wedding party made their entrances dancing through tables to their chairs and everyone cheered as the bride and groom appeared and shared their first dance. Friends and family make toasts and raised their glasses to the newlyweds, then dinner was served. Food stations were placed around the courtyard including a French Fry Station, Paella Station, Filet Mignon Carvery, and Salad Station with Caesar Salad and Pear Salad. The menu was selected by the bride and groom with help from our Event Specialist, Brittany, during their planning process. Guests enjoyed watching our chef’s cook up delicious entrees at each station and filled their plates to their liking. While everyone was eating, the groom and his groomsmen performed a choreographed dance as a surprise gift to the bride. Guests clapped to the beat while the guys showed off their moves. Katherine loved the surprise and was cheering her man during the performance. Afterwards, Nam and Katherine cut their 2-tiered wedding cake and slices were served to those with a sweet tooth. Once the cake was cut, Katherine changed into her second look of the evening, a simple, silky dress, and was ready to really party. All the single ladies came out on the dance floor for the bouquet toss and the arrangement was intercepted by one of the young attendees. With all the traditional festivities complete, everyone came joined the bride and groom on the dance floor to dance the night away.
