Pretend City is a non-profit children’s museum, as well as an educational center and developmental screening facility. Opened to the public in 2009, Pretend City is self-described as “a community which builds better brains through fun, whole body learning experiences and empowers children and their grown-ups to meaningfully connect with and expand their world.” Fomented on a belief that the best learning takes places through play, Pretend City offers over a dozen interactive exhibits and is designed as a small city.
These exhibits teach children about the world around them by immersing them in age-appropriate, real sectors of society. From an Amphitheater where kids and their parents can act, draw, and create songs to perform, to a Beach that teaches children about being environmentally responsible, each exhibit provides a learning experience that is simultaneously fun + impactful.
In addition to these exhibits, Pretend City hosts an annual Healthy & Wellness Fair, diversified Monthly Programs, a free Developmental Screening, and a “Good to Go from Head to Toe” program that educates parents about recognizing their children’s developmental milestones.
As a special event space, Pretend City offers a one-of-a-kind ambiance that bespeaks creativity, whimsy, and flexibility. The museum itself throws annual fundraising events (such as a yearly Poker Tournament) and family-friendly special occasions designed to encourage togetherness and good health.
Set amongst unique backdrops and colorful design, Pretend City is the perfect place to host an occasion centered on play + imagination. As a truly innovative place, Pretend City presents a wonderful opportunity to make any event tied to innovation + intellectual curiosity even more striking. Key features include 15,000 sq. ft. of interactive space, along with themed packages, like the “Day at the Beach” option.
These packages make Pretend City ideal for a children’s birthday party. However, the venue is a fantastic, fun choice for events of all kinds, including: Anniversaries, Holiday Celebrations, Family Reunions, Conferences, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Presentations, Meetings, Staff Appreciation Parties, Fundraisers, Product Launches, Engagement Parties, School Dances, + Social Events of all types.
