Daniel + Kelsey, The Estate on Second
It’s been a crazy few months since we’ve opened our doors. During this time, we’ve hosted many different events and weddings that have brought their own unique flair to our venue spaces. As we look ahead to holiday gatherings, New Year’s bashes and inspired weddings, we look back at our first ever wedding and share it with you all. Daniel + Kelsey held their elegant celebration at The Estate grounds surrounded by family and friends. The Estate Venue Manager, Sara Rose Sargisian, and our Event Specialist, Hannah Stuber made sure that the details of the day came together wonderfully. All the men suited up in their tuxes and sipped on whiskey at the couple’s modern home. The gals prepped and dressed in The Estate’s Bridal Room and upstairs in The Attic. The beautiful bride wore a fitted lace gown with her hair pulled up and styled gorgeous, vintage inspired headpiece and veil. Her bridesmaids were draped in floor length heather, goddess-like dresses.
The space was filled with sweet details and pops of color. Foxtail Florals designed the incredible pinked-hued bouquets and sweeping greenery throughout the venue. For the ceremony, Daniel + Kelsey said their vows in the Grand Ballroom with stretching windows and chandeliers overhead. The sweet moment was had in front of their dearest loved ones. Once the two shared their big kiss, everyone headed upstairs for cocktail hour. Guests could enjoy their drinks and appetizers in The Attic or out on The Terrace overlooking downtown Santa Ana. For hors d’oeuvres, we served Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellington with Béarnaise Sauce and Chicken Spring Roll with Peanut Sauce. Meanwhile, the newlyweds walked around the area to capture their firsts moments as husband and wife.
Downstairs, the room was transformed into a reception space fit with long tables and spectacular floral centerpieces. Lovely hand-lettered signage by Nicole Solis was scattered around the room to guide guests to their tables and the various stations. When it came time for dinner, guests enjoyed our Chicken Veronique and Tortellini with a Creamy Pesto Sauce. For sides we offered Green Beans with Bacon, Shallots & Dill and Rosemary & Garlic Roasted Potatoes. Then when it was time for dessert and cake cutting, guests were treated to layers of sweet goodness. This gorgeous, flower-topped cake had tiers of Carrot Cake with Buttercream Icing and Cream Cheese Filling, Carrot Cake with Whipped Cream Icing, and Marble Cake with Chocolate Bavarian Filling and Buttercream Icing. The rest of the evening was filled with toasting, tears of joy, and hitting the dance floor. We are so thrilled that Kelsey + Daniel were our first couple wed at The Estate. Thank you for letting us be a part of your day, we wish you the best! And thank you to Kristina Adams Photography for sharing your brilliant captures of the two's big day!

Collaboration Cultivators: Sussanna Davidson of French Buckets
This edition of our Collaboration Cultivators vendor series is spotlighting our dear friend and talented floral designer, Sussanna Davidson of French Buckets. As a seasoned florist in the industry, Sussanna has styled arrangements for all sorts of amazing events. We absolutely love getting to work alongside such a talented vendor during our clients’ special occasions.
French Buckets was born out of Sussanna’s educational background in fine art, her innate drive for creativity, and a passion for refurbishing old furniture finds. Her love for styling began in her college days when she opened up a little shop that sold her revamped French country pieces. Whether it was fixing up an thrifted dresser with new knobs and fresh coat of paint or sprucing up a potted plant with an antique pale and fun ribbons, she loved making beautiful things for others to enjoy. After graduating, a florist friend asked her to help open her second flower shop in Los Angeles. Susanna took on this exciting endeavor by renovating an old farmhouse with her family. On one side, her mother and sister operated a cafe that served coffee and sandwiches, while Sussanna and her friend ran their flower shop, to be named French Buckets, on the other side. Within a year, the two had been approached by Fashion Island in Newport Beach. The company’s management loved the French Buckets aesthetic and thought it would be a perfect addition to the area. So they took a risk and moved their young business down south and today French Buckets is still alive, thriving, and creating lovely things. Working in florals is so much more than assembling pretty flowers. For Susanna, her work is an art. Her process begins with inspiration, drawing ideas from the smallest of details, from cloths and textures to colors and atmospheres. From there she takes these pieces and sets out to create an arrangement, mixing feel, hues, shades, and accents. She also considers how each element will be documented and shared. This step takes trust and collaboration because if her work isn’t photographed well, it loses it’s appeal and overall impact. When a client works with Sussanna, she starts by asking them big picture questions like what they’ve been dreaming about and what they want guests to feel when they walk in the room. These are key to styling an environment that the client will love. Then come the details that include style, colors, budget, logistics, and more. Whether it’s a small wedding, dinner gathering, or grand party, Susanna brings her curated eye and botanical spirit to every setting. Although she loves providing arrangements for all sorts of events, her favorite context for styling is photoshoots. There she can let her creativity run wild, working with vendors to build a dreamy vision that can inspire and be shared with others. Sussanna describes the French Buckets style as artistic, organic, and feminine. Everything they produce is simply gorgeous and we are continually in awe of their amazing work. Thank you Susanna for sharing your story with our readers. We can’t wait for our next event together!
A Peachy Celebration: Hillary & Eric's Wedding at The Loft on Pine
As an enthusiastic vendor in the events industry, we are always on the lookout for unique and fresh weddings. Whether it’s an unusual color palettes, interesting decor ideas, or just plain different, we’re all about sharing these wonderful gems with you all. Hillary + Eric’s celebration at The Loft on Pine was one of these memorable days. The two entrusted coordinator Hallie Slade of La Boheme Events and our Event Specialist, Nickie Good, on their special day to make sure the festivities ran wonderfully with ease. From getting ready with the gals to walking down the aisle, Hillary looked absolutely stunning in her strapless, sweetheart gown and braided updo. Her bridesmaids were draped in flowing, powder blue dresses, while the guys were all done up in tuxedos fit with fun socks of their choice.
The space was the ideal setting for these lovebirds as they prepped for exchanging vows in front of their loved ones. While the girls dressed in bridal suite adorned with vintage mirrors and frames, the men suited up and played pool in the classy groomsmen lounge.
When it came time for the ceremony, Hillary was escorted down the stairs and the stretching striped runner by her father. Eric watched with endearment as his bride was glowing with pure radiance. The couple took part in ceremonial traditions and said their I do’s. Everyone cheered as the new Mr. and Mrs. made their way back up the aisle. Guests were invited to partake in cocktail hour, while the couple documented the union with family photos. A live band played as everyone chatted and sipped on tasty libations. Then Eric serenaded his wife with a lovely tune. For hors d’oeuvres, we served up our delectable Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellington with Bearnaise Sauce along with Fig, Goat Cheese and Mascarpone Tarts drizzled with Pomegranate Sauce. Before the reception, everyone made their way to the beautiful love notes wall. This amazing detail was Hillary + Eric’s way of making this day personal for each one of their friends and family. Plus, the card holders and botanical decals were perfectly pretty. During this time, the main hall was transformed into a charming reception, full of bright accents and subtle patterns. The whole space was styled with hints of Southern prep, vibrant florals and delicate accents. One of our favorite touches was the addition of peaches with tiny name banners to every place setting. That along with the gorgeous pink and orange center arrangements popped of the soft blue tablecloths. For dinner, we started off with a Pear Salad that was followed by the guests’ choice of Santorini Chicken, Balsamic Glazed Salmon Filet with Golden Raisins, or Tortellini with Creamy Pesto Sauce. While everyone ate their meals, loved ones toasted and reminisced on great times with the happy couple. The rest of the evening was filled with entertainment, dancing, delicious cake and heartfelt moments. The spectacular, tiered chocolate cake was made with a delicious Chocolate Mousse Filling and textured Buttercream Frosting. Congrats Hillary + Eric, we are so happy for you two. And a huge thank you to Jenny Smith & Co. for sharing these gorgeous photos from the celebration.
Brittan & Peter's Dreamy Coastal Wedding at the Casino San Clemente
There are few things more beautiful than a bride dressed in white with flowers in hand, ready to meet her groom at the alter. The talented Amanda Christine Photography captured this treasured moment, along with many other stunning sights, on Brittan and Peter’s wedding day at the beachside Casino San Clemente. Everything was simply perfect and styled with a bohemian meets vintage flair. The couple entrusted Amy Beck of All in the Detail Design and our Event Specialist, April Chaim, to carry out the details of this special day. The day began with prepping and primping. Brittan and her gals wore matching floral robes while getting ready for the ceremony. To add an eclectic feel, the bridesmaids wore different styles of dresses tied together with a pastel blue hue, while the maid of honor sported a gold dress to offset the group. As for the lovely bride, Brittan wore a dreamy, off-the-shoulder gown along with a vintage lace trimmed veil. The groomsmen wore grey suits fit with pale blue bowties, while Peter was suited up in charcoal. When it came time for the ceremony, everyone made their way to the Rock Garden to witness the couple’s sweet vows. Posies and Poms created gorgeous bouquets for the wedding party as well as a sweeping, botanical garland that hung on the adobe fireplace’s mantle as a backdrop. Everyone cheered for the new Mr. and Mrs. as they headed back up the aisle with pure excitement. After the nuptials, Brittan and Peter snuck off to take photos around the area as husband and wife. And yes, we’re swooning over these amazing snaps of the adorable pair. Meanwhile, guests were invited to socialize with a serene view. They enjoy tasty libations and hors d’oeuvres on the Patio of the Stars. For starters, we hosted a station with Cheese Trays, Bruschetta Pomodoro served on a Herb Toasted Sliced Baguette, and Italian Meatballs. Then everyone made their way into the Grand Ballroom for the reception. After the wedding party made their exuberant entrance, guests ate dinner before the rest of the festivities ensued. The tables were decorated with rich floral centerpieces, gold accents, and adorable type table numbers. For the main course, we served up a buffet of delicious eats with Grilled Marinated Vegetables, Caesar Salad, and a lovely Italian inspired spread. The swooning newlyweds sat at their own sweetheart table draped in a fun ruffled tablecloth. Soon after dinner, the evening held warm toasts, wild dancing, the cutting of the cake, and many other reception traditions. The couple chose our delectable Marble Cake with Vanilla Bavarian Filling and Buttercream Icing for dessert with a gold Mr. & Mrs. on top.
