    Cake Parade

    Cake Parade

Every Saturday I have the pleasure of watching the cakes exit the cooler and off to their celebrations. I call it the cake parade. Today there were a few tasty beauties that caught my eye… and for different reasons. This first cake was for a Quinceañera. Normally I am not a fan of butterflies. However, the mix of translucent and jeweled butterflies were magical. I am sure this one is for a very special young woman.

I LOVE the simple beauty of this rustic cake. There is something so comfortable and “home-made” about it. I wish I could travel with it to see how the top is adorned. I could see twigs and birds. Possibly even fruit.

I am sure you can see why I choose this next cake. It is a neoclassical gem. I love the floral swag and precise leaf detail. Black and white is so simple and classic. However, the gold beading sets it off.

Another simple black and white cake. Square shape, dressed with three different ribbons, and covered in fondant. The vanilla fragrance was intoxicating.

This last one is pretty basic. I love a swag and dot pattern and aqua is one of my new favorite colors. To me a monogram will never go out of style.

    Bastille Day Croissants

    Bastille Day Croissants

Americans have The Fourth of July; the French have Bastille Day. On July 14, 1789, an outraged group of Parisians stormed the Bastille, a fortress and prison in France where prisoners of influence were held. Shortly thereafter, King Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette took refuge in Versailles as the violent peasants pillaged and burned châteaux. For the peasant class, the Bastille stood as a symbol of the hypocrisy and corruption of the aristocratic government – controlled mostly by nobility and clergy. This important event marked the entry of the popular class into the French Revolution.

In celebration of my families French heritage (the peasant class), I am loading up some mini chocolate croissants and heading out to some of my favorite venues. This will be my little version of storming the Bastille. The champagne dressed with lavender will mark my success at the end of the day. CHEERS!

    Sweet Pink at Bella Collina

I am so excited about Chase and Lyssa Rae’s wedding this last weekend at Bella Collina in San Clemente. I had to sneak out a few of the lovely details. I must say when you start with a drop-dead-gorgeous bride and a venue with breath-taking views… the rest is just icing. Oh, and did I mention my affection for all things PINK? Well here’s your peek.

So happy to be a part of this beautiful celebration of LOVE. All the best Chase and Lyssa Rae!
