  Welcome back in time to a simpler life… Rancho Los Cerritos is acres of History. From it’s private walled gardens with reflecting ponds to it’s grand sprawling lawn canopied by an ancient Moreton Bay Fig tree, this is a treasure. The two-story Monterey-style adobe was built in 1844 and is complimented by a fruit orchard and summerhouse. Paths wander throughout the property leading to hidden treasures…. a water tower, a sundial, secret gardens, and old brick walls. This is a MUST SEE venue for an exclusive and unique celebration.

  

  Old paths, old English roses, secret gates, and treasures at every turn. It’s a photographer’s dream. Great lighting.

  Seriously!?! This cake just screams DIVA! So much about it I LOVE. Inside… red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and white cake with strawberry cream. Covered in fondant, ribbons on the bottom, jeweled damask on the top. Adorned with a feather mask. How I would love to see this Diva’s face when she sees it. She  loves pink, animal prints, Louboutins, large jewelry, & Dr. Pepper. Happy Birthday Hanssie Trainor!

  Mandarin Martini

  

  A favored fruit is a great place to start when creating a cocktail for your celebration. This weekend I noticed an abundance of mandarins ripening in a bowl. I love their flavor and fragrance. In a shaker I mixed the fresh mandarin juice together with vodka, Cointreau, ice, and the light syrup I drained from a can of mandarin oranges. Garnish with mandarin and blueberry. Very fragrant with a little kick. The perfect fall cocktail.

  I love celebrations that become family affairs. When Shorleen and Joasa married, the guest list exceeded 300. There are very few locations in the South Bay that can accommodate a sizable gathering. We were very excited when they chose The Carson Center. Partly because Joasa’s father, Pastor Daniel Hunkin , is a favorite at The Carson Center. Not only was he the father of the groom, he also officiated the ceremony. Probably my favorite part of the celebration. I love a personal message when two people in love make all of those promises to each other. Guests dined and danced the night away in the Grand Ballroom. It truly was a celebration of love and family.

  

  Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Joasa Hunkin…. we look forward to celebrating future events with you and your family at The Carson Center. Blessings!
