100th Birthday Party with Terracotta Details and an Inspiring Walk Down Memory Lane at Grand Gimeno

Guests arrived to Lorenzo’s 100th birthday party at Grand Gimeno and were greeted by a live mariachi, tray passed Chicken Jalapeno Empanadas, Mini Al Pastor Tacos, and Thai Vegetable Spring Rolls, Wood-Fired Mediterranean Vegetable Pizza and Spicy Diavola Pizza, and a Ceviche Station with Tilapia Ceviche, Charred Green Aguachile, and Traditional Red Aguachile. Our Top Shelf Bar both inside and outside offered guests refreshing cocktails, cold soft drinks, beer, and wine while they mixed and mingled. In the Olive Grove, tables were topped with ivory, terracotta, and marigold details from the linens and plates to the floral arrangements and glassware drawing inspiration from Lorenzo’s heritage. In the back of the Olive Grove, a “memory lane” was set up sharing stories of Lorenzo’s past from his American dream and lessons in faith to selling eggs door-to-door and starting a neighborhood produce truck. Family and friends gathered to read about his incredible and inspiring history while settling in for dinner. After lots of group photos with Lorenzo, guests went through our dinner buffet and filled their plates with Tequila Lime Chicken, Slow Roasted Carnitas, Spanish Rice, Sweet Corn Cake, Ensalada Las Mesas, Jay’s Famous Tortilla Chips and Homemade Salsa, and Fresh Guacamole. The menu was selected with the help of our event specialist, Patti. Heartwarming toasts were shared and everyone sang happy birthday to Lorenzo. Guests indulged in some cake and fresh churros for dessert, then hit the dance floor to close out the celebratory evening.
