A New Jay’s Catering Hospitality Group Venue on the Coast: The Casino San Clemente

There are places to host events, and then there are places that hold history, character, and a sense of magic you can feel the moment you step inside. The Casino San Clemente is one of those places, and today, we are proud to share an exciting new chapter: Jay’s Catering has officially welcomed this iconic coastal landmark as the newest venue under our family of venues umbrella.

From its opening night on July 31st, 1937, the Casino was designed to bring people together. With Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, original wooden floors, and ocean views, the Casino quickly became one of the most glamorous dance halls along the California coast. Hollywood icons like Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Cesar Romero, and Dorothy Lamour once graced the halls adding to a legacy that continues to captivate to this day. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and recognized as one of San Clemente’s historic landmark structures, the Casino San Clemente has stood the test of time for nearly 90 years.

At Jay’s Catering, our role is to not change what makes this venue special, but to preserve it. To honor the architectural integrity and celebratory spirit that has defined this space since 1937, while thoughtfully carrying it forward for future generations. Today guests are still welcomed beneath the glow of a “dance” sign, a modern tribute to the original neon that once lit up the night sky and drew crowds from near and far. It’s a symbol of continuity, inviting a new generation to step inside and make the space their own for events ranging from weddings and birthdays to community fundraisers and nonprofit galas.
