Forever Love at Hangar 21 South

After touching up hair and makeup in the bridal suite, Rubyna and her bridesmaids slipped into their wedding attire. Each bridesmaid wore a pink dress and Rubyna wore a tulle and lace gown. Meanwhile, Alden and his groomsmen arrived at Hangar 21 South suited up in black with matching boutonnieres. The guys posed for group photos in the hangar before it was time for Alden and Rubyna to have their first look just outside. Alden anxiously awaited his bride with his back facing the hangar doors. He could hear footsteps getting closer and closer, then a tap on his shoulder turned him around. Tears immediately filled Alden’s eyes when he saw his bride for the first time that day. A warm embrace was shared between the bride and groom and the bride wiped away a few tears. Right after, the couple’s groomsmen and bridesmaids joined them for photos together before lining up for ceremony.

Guests entered into the side patio and signed the bride and groom’s guest book before taking a seat. A circular backdrop covered in peach, white, pink and tan flowers stood center stage as ceremony decor and music cued up as the wedding party began making their entrances. Rubyna was last to make her walk down the aisle and tried her best to fight back tears. After she made it to the head of the aisle next to Alden, the crowd took a seat. Alden and Rubyna read aloud handwritten vows, exchanged rings, and sealed the ceremony with a kiss as guests cheered. Ready to continue the celebration, the newlyweds excitedly exited the ceremony and headed for the tarmac for cocktail hour.

Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellingtons and Crab Cakes with Mango Papaya Salsa were tray passed around the tarmac while the bar served Old Fashioned and Moscow Mule cocktails as the bride and groom’s signature drinks. Everyone mixed and mingled until Rubyna and Alden touched down from their flight. Everyone got their phones out and hit record as the bride and groom exited the helicopter and made their way back over to the hangar. Clapping and cheering welcomed them back just in time for reception.

Tables were draped in white linen and topped with floral centerpieces. Name cards were placed at each place setting surrounded by knotted napkins and flatware. Rubyna and Alden made their grand entrance into their first dance, then took a seat at their sweetheart table where the ceremony backdrop was repurposed. While dining on Southwest Chicken, Tri-Tip Carvery, Tortellini with Creamy Pesto, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Grilled Marinated Vegetables, and Pear & Walnut Salad, toasts were shared. The menu was selected by the bride and groom during their planning process with help from our Event Specialist, Brittany. Glasses clinked in the air as each toast came to an end, then it was time for dessert. A 2-tier lemon cake with lemon creme filling was cut by the bride and groom, then served to guests who wished to indulge in a little something sweet. While enjoying cake, the garter and bouquet were tossed out to all the single ladies and men. Once full from dinner and dessert, guests hit the dance floor. The evening ended with the newlyweds showing off their best moves surrounded by all their family and friends.
