Industrial Boho Wedding at Hangar 21 South

Standing on the staircase inside Hangar 21 South, Krishna waited for her first look with her father. With boho bouquet in hand, she slowly began her descent into the pilots lounge on the lower level. A brush of the shoulder turned her dad turned around and the waterworks immediately began. An emotional and heartwarming first look was exchanged that had the whole family in tears that turned into smiles, and afterwards, the group headed into the hangar to line up for ceremony.

Outside on the side patio, guests entered and signed Krishna and Michael’s guest book then took a seat. Raffia fans that perfectly matched the wedding’s bohemian theme were placed atop each seat in case of hot weather and pampas grass marked the head of the aisle. Dried and fresh floral pillar installs filled with palm leaves, roses, carnations,  baby’s breath and more stood on the stage awaiting the bride and groom. Once everyone had arrived, the wedding party made their entrances ending with Krishna. Michael tried his best to hold it together when he first set eyes on his beautiful bride, but eventually his emotions took over for a moment. Once the two were together on stage, smiles filled both their faces. The bride and groom shared handwritten vows in front of family and friends, exchanged rings, and were pronounced husband and wife. A sweet kiss sealed the deal and the newlyweds exited the ceremony into cocktail hour.

Margarita and Mojito signature cocktails were being shaken and poured at the bar while Sesame Shrimp and Mango Springs Rolls, Curry Apple Chicken Skewers, and Crab Cakes were tray passed. Rattan chairs sat on either side of an ivory couch and two tufted, tan ottomans offered additional lounge seating on the tarmac while guests mixed and mingled. Meanwhile, Michael and Krishna enjoyed a helicopter ride over Orange County and rejoined their guests after touching back down.

Everyone stood with phones in the air recording the bride and groom’s helicopter entrance and an uproar of cheers filled the hangar as the newlyweds danced their way inside. Tables were draped with ivory linens and topped with floral centerpieces, gold flatware, rust-colored napkins, and flickering candles. After their first dance, Krishna and Michael took a seat at their sweetheart table where their ceremony decor was repurposed and dinner was served. Sweet and Sticky Korean Chicken, Vietnamese Lemongrass Pork, Sweet & Sour Meatballs, Vegetable Fried Rice, Asian Cucumber, and Broccolini Spears. The menu was selected by the bride and groom with help from our Event Specialist, Brittany. While guests enjoyed dinner, friends and family shared toasts. Glasses were raised and clinked in the air and a video montage brought tears and laughs. After dinner, a 3-tiered almond, marble and carrot cake was cut and served for dessert. Fueled with energy from dinner and cake, everyone hit the dance floor. To end the evening on a fun note, Krishna and Michael ordered a late night snack of Fig, Goat Cheese & Mascarpone Tarts, Fried Chicken & Waffle Bites, and Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellingtons. It was a huge hit and the small snacks were quickly eaten and enjoyed. Guests cheered and danced around the bride and groom as the night came to a close and fun photos were taken to remember the special day.
