Mariachi Wedding at Grand Gimeno

David and his groomsmen and Mayra and her bridesmaid arrived at Grand Gimeno to get ready for the big day ahead. The girls popped champagne and made small talk while getting their hair and makeup done, then helped Mayra into her wedding gown and veil. Across the way, David and his groomsmen suited up and knotted their ties. Once both groups were ready, David was first to head to the courtyard and take his place for his and Mayra’s first look. Mayra stepped out into the courtyard shortly after as the wedding party watched from the sidelines. With a tap on the shoulder, David turned around. Smiles filled the bride and groom’s faces, and hugs were shared. The two posed for photos together and with their wedding party, then lined up inside for ceremony.

Guests entered the Olive Grove where a mariachi filled the air with music. After signing Mayra and David’s guest book, they took a seat awaiting the bride and groom. With everyone in attendance, the wedding party made their entrances down the aisle beginning with David and ending with Mayra. The bride and groom tried their best to hold back tears when they saw each other across the aisle, but emotions overcame them. In front of all their closest friends and family, David and Mayra recited vows, exchanged rings, and sealed the ceremony with a kiss. Everyone cheered as the newlyweds exited the ceremony and headed for cocktail hour.

Beef Picadillo Empanadas and Caprese Skewers were tray passed while the bar served up the newlywed’s signature cocktails, a Mexican Mule and Paloma. Guests cozied up to the fire pit and around white linen-draped tables while mixing and mingling until dinnertime. Mayra and David grabbed their signature drinks and joined in on cocktail hour conversations, took a few photos with friends, then invited everyone inside for reception.

Tables were decorated with small potted plants, flickering candles and tile topped plates. Guests checked the Spanish tile inspired seating chart, then found their seats. Without further ado, the newlyweds made their grand entrance. The mariachi played and guests cheered while the couple shared their first dance in the center of the room. After, Mayra and David took a seat at their sweetheart table for dinner. Zucchini Lime Chicken, Tortellini with Creamy Pesto, Red Roasted Garlic Potatoes, Grilled Marinated Vegetables and Tangerine and Pecan Salad filled everyone’s plates just as toasts started. The menu was selected during their planning process with help from our Event Specialist, Patti. Family and friends shared memories of the couple and clinked glasses as their speeches ended. The newlyweds went around and thanked each table for coming to celebrate their love and closed out dinner with a quick thank you speech and invite to enjoy dessert and dancing. The evening ended with everyone out on the dance floor shoring off their best moves and showering Mayra and David in lots of love.
