Spring Has Spring with This Colorful Butterfly Inspired Wedding

The sweet smell of roses filled the air as guests entered the South Coast Botanic Rose Garden for Shreyas and Christine’s wedding. Vibrant yellow, orange, pink, and purple flowers hung from the wooden pergola where the bride and groom would soon exchange vows and guests trickled in finding their seats. The wedding party posed together for group photos on the Lower Meadow as to not be seen before the ceremony and a furry friend made a surprise appearance. Bridesmaids were dressed in a rainbow of colors and the groomsmen wore charcoal grey suits with pink ties. Christine’s wedding gown was a classic cut with lace train that perfectly complimented the splashes of color around her. As soon as photos were done and all the guests had arrived, the wedding party lined up for ceremony.

Soft music began playing as the wedding party walked down the aisle ending the processional with Christine. On the steps of the Rose Garden, the bride and groom stood and read handwritten vows in front of family and friends. Laughs and tears were shared between the two, then rings were exchanged. The officiant announced the couple as husband and wife and the crowd cheered as the newlyweds kissed and exited into cocktail hour.

Tables draped in pink linen cheerfully welcomed guests into cocktail hour in the Lower Meadow. Servers were tray passing Chicken Jalapeno Empanadas, Polote, and Crab Cakes, and the bar was pouring refreshing beverages including the bride and groom’s signature cocktails, an Old Fashioned and Aperol Spritz. Live music played throughout while guests mixed and mingled until it was time for dinner. A champagne seating chart helped guests find their seats just steps away.

On the other side of the lawn, tables were draped in teal velvet and topped with bright floral centerpieces. Mustard knotted napkins and butterfly plates added to the colorful décor. Being lovers of music, Christine and Shreyas placed tambourines at each table and guests used them as the bride and groom made their grand entrance into the reception. Family and close friends stood and raised a glass while the bride and groom enjoyed the shared memories at their pink sweetheart table. After toasts, dinner was served. A Taco Station with Birria, Al Pastor, and Soyrizo and Potato Tacos offered a fun, interactive dining experience complete with Ensaladas Las Mesas, Black Beans, Spanish Rice, and Jay’s Famous Tortilla Chips with guacamole. The menu was selected by the bride and groom with help from our Event Specialist, Patti. Once everyone had filled their plates, Christine and Shreyas surprised their guests with live dinner entertainment by singing original songs. The tambourines came back out and guests clapped to the beat while enjoying dinner. After dinner, cake was cut and the newlyweds invited guests to indulge in some dessert. After eating their fill, everyone headed out to the dance floor to dance the night away!
