Travel Themed Wedding at The Estate on Second

With help from their mothers, Caitlin and Marlyne slipped into their wedding dresses, accessorized, and added any finishing touches to their wedding looks inside The Estate on Second. With hair and makeup ready, Caitlin headed upstairs for her first look with Marlyne in the Attic. Marlyne stood in a tulle gown and trailing veil with her back facing the stairs as Caitlin approached her. A tap of the shoulder turned Marlyne around to see her beautiful bride. Huge smiles immediately filled the bride’s faces and Caitlin reached out to give Marlyne a single stem white rose. After a few spins, hugs, and compliments, Caitlin and Marlyne were joined by their bridal parties for group pictures. Each member of the party was dressed in a different shade of blue and held a bouquet of fresh, white flowers or had a white floral boutonnière. After wandering around inside and outside the venue, the group lined up for ceremony.

Greenery hung from the center Palladian window inside the Crystal Ballroom and additional vines decorated each chair along the aisle. Guests arrived, signed Caitlin and Marlyne’s guest book, then took a seat. Music cued up and the wedding party made their entrances. Caitlin walked the aisle first as guests watched in awe followed by Caitlin. The two were united at the head of the aisle and the crowd took a seat. In front of family and friends, the brides read handwritten vows to one another, exchanged rings, and sealed the ceremony with a sweet kiss. Cheers from guests accompanied the newlyweds exit into cocktail hour.

Bruschetta al Pomodoro and Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms were tray passed to hungry guests while beer and wine was being poured at the bar. The newlyweds spent cocktail hour with their guests, mixing and mingling, catching up, talking about their future plans, and making sure to thank everyone for coming to celebrate their love. After making their rounds, the couple invited everyone back into the Crystal Ballroom for dinner.

A travel inspired seating chart guided guests into the reception space and to their assigned tables. White candles, greenery, and flowers intermingled atop each table draped in light grey linen and the sweetheart table was draped in black to stand out from the rest. Once everyone was seated, Caitlin and Marlyne made their grand entrance and thanked everyone again for joining in on the celebration. Toasts were made while dinner was served. Chicken Parmigiana, Tortellini with Creamy Pesto, Italian Green Beans with Pancetta, Sliced Tomatoes with Buffalo Mozzarella, and Caesar Salad filled guest’s plates as glasses clinked in the air. The Italian Menu was selected by the brides with help from our Event Specialist, Lauren, during their planning process. Dinner was a hit and guests couldn’t wait for dessert! Continuing with the travel theme, the couple selected our Latin Dessert Station to treat their guests to. A collection of Petite Tres Leches Cakes, Mini Caramel Custard Flan, Coconut Macaroons, Dulce de Leche Chocolate Tarts, and Mexican Wedding Cookies topped the dessert table. After Marlyne and Caitlin cut their wedding cake, they invited everyone to indulge in something sweet from the dessert station. The night ended out on the dance floor with everyone showing off their best moves and making sure they got a photo with the newlyweds before heading home.
